We’re back with our favorite reviewer in the ThunderVerse, and this time we’re heading to another part of the galaxy with ToyBro to discuss the highly anticipated arrival of the SilverHawks. This year has really been good for ThunderCats ULTIMATES! collectors. So many releases one after the other meant that our displays blossomed. And if you’re one of the lucky few who also got your hands on the ThunderTank from Super7, then you’d know that you now have a setup that blows minds. Let’s start at the very beginning. It’s always a very good place to start. That first time you saw the ThunderTank on TV can easily compare with the majesty of the likes of the Millennium Falcon from the big screen. Strange analogy perhaps, but the bottom line is you were so impressed with it as a kid that till this day it stands out as a vehicle (or space ship) of note. The connection is ironic, since the ThunderTank is made up of parts of the flag ship that carried our heroes to Third Earth in 1985. Point being, it etched its way into your memory banks. The vintage LJN ThunderTank did the job too, sure it was much smaller, but it certainly had you on all fours and into battle with whomever you chose to fight.

The first complete wave we receive as collectors in 2023 is the magical reincarnation of our LJN childhood, aka Wave 6 from Super7. This wave of ThunderCats ULTIMATES! is the first foray into toy variant versions of our favorite characters. At the time when these were solicited, Wave 6 was met with aggressive negativity. Understandably so, if you think about the momentum that we had built at that time. By that time we had gotten Pumm-Ra, the first previously unmade character, Mirror Lion-O and then Mandora and her Electro-Charger. We were three “new” characters in plastic deep. We all wanted more.
